Werri Beach Ocean Baths were built in the late 1930s to cater for Werri Beach campers and to provide an alternative swimming facility on days when the surf was dangerous. The original design plan called for the pool to be 165 feet by 75 feet but this was reduced to 75 feet by 40 feet to save costs. A second smaller round pool is also located not far away on the same large rock platform which extends north and east out from the base of Gerringong headland.
