Crowdy Head Lighthouse - Mid North Coast, NSW, Australia

Located 6km east of Harrington on the NSW Mid North Coast of Australia.
31.50S Latitude -152.45E Longitude
Built in 1978 of stone and painted white, the lighthouse was converted to Automatic Acetylene Operation in 1928 and demanned. In June 1972 it was converted to Mains Electricity operation. The light has a range of 16 Nautical Miles.
Stands 7.3m tall at an elevation of 61m and is operated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
The Pilot Station formerly asscociated with the lighthouse was closed in 1960 owing to the demise of the shipping industry at that time.
It was demolished but I am unable to find out at this time what year that occurred.
Crowdy Head Lighthouse was the last of a number of small lighthouses designed by James Barnett - the others being Fingal Head, Richmond River, Clarence River and Tacking Point at Port Macquarie.
