This tree growing in Brisbane Botanic Gardens was planted in 1987.While the Royal red Poinciana can be seen flowering as far south as Sydney the Yellow Poinciana is rarely seen south of Brisbane and I am interested to find out why.
Not to be confused with the Yellow Flame Tree-Peltophorum pterocarpum, sometimes incorrectly referred to as the Yellow Poinciana.
