St Josephs Convent and Catholic School, Built 1868, Sofala, NSW Central West

St Joseph's Convent and Catholic School, Sofala, was designed according to the Gothic Revival architectural style, and officially opened by the Sisters of St Joseph on the 17th March 1868 (St Patrick's Day). The bricks came from local clay fired in kilns which were located across the Turon River from the township of Sofala. The original timber shingles remain under the iron roof.
Some restoration work has been done and the property is now in private hands.
