emFavolaschia /ememcalocera/em is thought to be native to Madagascar. It is an a href="

It was first detected in Australia in Lamington National Park in SE Queensland along walking trails where it is suspected of having been brought in on the shoes of walkers.br/br/I imagine that is how it arrived here in Norfolk Island where I saw larger aggregations of this invasive species than I have previously seen in Lamington National Park. I did not see it in the Norfolk National Park although it could possibly be there as the Botanic Gardens do adjoin the National Park.br/The need for walkers to be conscious of sterilising shoes is evident by outbreaks of potentially harmful fungus such as this.
