Ziegfeld Follies dancer Blanche Russell's car broke down near here In around 1927. She liked the area, bought the property and built this stone hut in the 1930's.
This area is just north of the Navajo Bridge on US 89A. North of Flagstaff & Cameron, West of Page & Lee's Ferry. Near the Vermilion Cliffs and the Cliff Dwellers Lodge on the way to Jacob Lake and the intersection with SR 67 which goes to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This route was part of the Mormon Trail known as the Honeymoon Trail since many Mormons traveled this route on the way to the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints Temple in St. George Utah.
