Range extends across all Australian vegetation zones except rainforests.
Of the total population of 700 Eucalytus species(encompassing recently declared separate genera-Corymbia and Angophora)only 12 occur outside Australia with only 2 not endemic to Australia.113 species are classified as Corymbia and 12 as Angophora.The remainder are classified as Eucalyptus.
Along with Syncarpia(Turpentine),Callistemon,Melaleuca,Leptospermum,and a long list of other Genera,the Eucalypts belong in the family-MYRTACEAE.
