Coastal areas of central and northern New South Wales and south-east Queensland. A beautiful lily of the coastal heathlands,the plant is sought after for flower arrangements but is strictly protected in its native habitat.Rutile Mining along the East Coast in the 60's impacted on the species but they survive in pockets be it all threatened by illegal gathering.They flower in December and January and are a pretty sight on the heathlands at this time.
Blandfordia nobilis a sister species does not occur north of about Gosford and these images were shot in Knappingat National Park just north of Forster.
