Milton Park Bowral was purchased by Anthony Hordern of Australian retailing fame in 1910 and with the aid of design assistance from the English School of Landscape Design Hordern's wife Mary designed and developed this magnificent Australian garden into a truly world class private garden,being ranked in 1983 as one of the best private gardens in the world.
The property passed out of the Hordern family's hands in 1961 and since then has been extensively renovated as a conference centre and hotel by several different owners.
The garden is only open for 2 weeks in October each year.
