Waihilau Falls, Waimanu Valley, Big Island, Hawaii

Waihilau Falls is a waterfall in the Waimanu Valley, Hawaii. It is the third tallest waterfall in Hawaii[1] and the thirteenth highest in the world at 2,600 feet (792 m) in height.

This waterfall is very remote and difficult to access which is probably fortunate as the area is one of the pristine places on the planet. The Waimanu Valley is very remote but has 4 very tall waterfalls. Waimanu Falls is located at the headwall of the amphitheater on the west side of the valley. On the way, you'll pass Wai'ilikahi Falls, Kakaauki Falls, and Lahomene Falls, each well over a thousand feet in height.

The best but softest way to see these waterfalls is by helicopter as I did.
